There are a number of restrictions and modified rules in place. It is the responsibility of each individual player to comply with the restrictions and the modified rules. Visit the Golf NSW website for further information. Changes published by Golf NSW on 21 December 2020 only affected golf clubs in the Sydney Northern Beaches area.
The guidelines are to be used in conjunction with:
- Official Rules of Golf
- Local rules as per scorecard and local rules noticeboard
- COVID Rules as per Golf NSW and NSW Health
- Removing the flagstick while putting is now permitted. It is recommended that:

- Removing the flagstick while putting is optional and there is no penalty for hitting the flagstick when putting.
- The swapping of scorecards at the start of the round is now optional. Continuing the current practice of marking your own card and verifying your score with your partner is encouraged, but not compulsory.
- Bunkers will remain rake – free. The 30cm preferred lie rule will continue until further notice.
- Social distancing guidelines and instructions from staff and the Golf Operations Committee are to be followed.
- Shaking hands with your playing partner(s) at the end of your round is not encouraged.
- Competition scores will be entered by individual players inside the clubhouse. It is recommended that the screen be sanitised after each score is entered. If the SLICE computer is not working, scores will be entered in the pro shop.
- If you are unwell you must not come to the golf club for any reason.
These rules are subject to change based on current NSW Health and Golf NSW COVID-19 regulations and updates.
Golf Operations Committee
3 January 2021
The Branxton Golf Club Co-Op Ltd has come a long way since it was first established in 1921.’The Ultimate Nine’ has challenged golfing greats such as Billy DUNK, Ian STANLEY, Peter LONARD, Nathan GREEN, Andre STOLTZ and many more. Until tighter economic conditions caused the withdrawal, the signature event of the year had been the XSTRATA Coal LPGA Pro-AM. Branxton has been most fortunate to see regular fields of national and international golfers compete on the course over the years. Amongst the winners were Laura DAVIES, Sarah KEMP, Tamara JOHNS & Rachael BAILEY. Several of our members have been with the club for over 50 years, while our juniors are making their marks in today’s golfing scene
Branxton Golf Course is a well maintained par 70, 9 hole course. Alternate tee positions are provided for most holes for an 18 hole game of 5547 metres. The course features two par5’s, 4 par 4’s and 3 par 3’s each with their own challenges. Additional Tees are provided for ladies competition.
It is compulsory to carry a sand bucket with you while playing
please make sure you take one and use it!
You should also always have a divot tool on hand when you’re on the
putting greens
If you see a divot or pitch mark please repair it, even if you didn’t do it!

Juniors
Branxton Junior Golf clinics run every Tuesday during daylight saving (October-April). We meet at 4:15pm ready to start by 4:30pm, with children from 6 to 18 are welcome to come along and join in.
We have a group of volunteers who take the children through the basic swings in golf putting, chipping and full swing. Rules and etiquette are also discussed during each session. Each session lasts about 20-25 minutes and the clinics finish no later than 6 o’clock.
For the more experienced golfers we also offer holes to play during the clinic times to improve their course management and shot making skills.
We love donations, particularly pre-loved golf balls. If you have any please give them to our Professional and he will ensure their safe delivery to the junior golfers.
Please consider golf for your children. It is a lifelong sport and a great ways to make friends and stay healthy.
